Run Club Abuja is a vibrant running and sports community of over 180 members dedicated to promoting a healthy lifestyle through running, walking, and engagement in various fitness activities. It is also deeply committed to improving the well-being of its members and the residents of the FCT community through initiatives focused on health, education, environment, art, and community development.

Since its inception in 2020, Run Club Abuja has adopted a social pact to improve the well-being of the residents of the FCT community, particularly, members of the community considered as being less privileged. We thus devised our very first Charity Half-Marathon in 2021, as a vehicle for assisting, and ultimately giving back to the community. We are proud to state that this social pact and its vehicle for social impact has continued annually till date. Run Club Abuja has executed various social projects cutting across health, education, the arts, and the environment. In 2021, we raised funds to construct 2 classrooms and procured computers for 40 students of the Not Forgotten Initiative School, Asokoro. In 2022, we renovated the building of the Primary Health Care Centre, Dei Dei, and supplied medical equipment and consumables.

In 2023, we embarked on the construction of Sports facilities (Football Field and Racetrack) for the schoolkids at LEA Primary School, Jabi, Abuja. Likewise in 2024, we raised funds for medical intervention (medical supplies and employment and payment of two medical staff for one year) for the people of the Leprosy Village, Kwali, Abuja.

The 5th edition of the Run Club Abuja Charity Half Marathon is scheduled for July 12, 2025, and will bring together up to 700 runners and participants from other running and cycling clubs, both locally and internationally. The CHM25 project target this year stays with Human Capital Development programming. Per our charter and contribution to society, the proceeds raised from CHM25 will be deployed towards executing a community service project in Education. We realize the state of public funded schools in Abuja, and like we did in 2021 and 2023, we intend to return to improve the learning conditions of a school in Abuja Metropolis by setting up a computer lab and digital library including computers and installed interactive learning content, alongside the furnishings for the room.
